Fruit Tea

Here at Miles Tea & Coffee, our fruit teas are very popular options for our customers who are looking for a nice refreshing drink. The fruit teas are generally made from dried fruit along with other herbs & spices to further enhance the flavour of the drink, such as our Berry Berry tea. Fruit teas can be enjoyed in loose form or in fruit tea bags, which both allow for flavour and strength. Loose fruit tea offer a more authentic taste experience, as the leaves and fruits have more room to infuse their flavours into the hot water. Whether you prefer the subtle flavours or vibrant notes of fruit tea we’re confident that we’ve got something for everyone.

We're often asked:

Yes, fruit tea is incredibly good for you as a naturally sweet, calorie-free alternative to sugary fizzy drinks, fruit juices, and cordial. Because authentic fruit infusions are created using real dried fruits, herbs, and botanicals, they provide a wonderful burst of flavour without any added sugars or artificial additives, making them a perfect fit for a healthy lifestyle.

Drinking a high-quality healthy fruit tea is also an exceptional way to reach your daily hydration goals if you find plain water a bit uninspiring. Packed with natural antioxidants and polyphenols from ingredients like hibiscus and rosehip, a daily cup helps support your immune system and overall wellbeing, serving as a refreshing hot drink or a crisp iced tea in the summer.

The vast majority of fruit teas are completely, naturally caffeine-free because they are made entirely from dried fruits, flowers, and spices rather than traditional tea leaves. Because they do not contain the Camellia sinensis plant, they will not cause jitters or disrupt your sleep cycle.

Choosing a caffeine-free fruit infusion makes it the ultimate evening comforting drink for the whole family, including children and pregnant women. Just be sure to double-check the ingredients list on "fruit-flavoured" teas, as some commercial brands use a black or green tea base which will contain caffeine - but a pure, traditional fruit infusion is 100% caffeine-free.

While fruit teas do contain natural acids from ingredients like hibiscus, rosehip, and citrus peel, they are far safer for your tooth enamel than fizzy drinks, pure fruit juices, or flavoured waters. Because fruit tea is heavily diluted with water and contains no added sugars, it does not feed the mouth bacteria that cause tooth decay.

If you are concerned about protecting your teeth while enjoying the best fruit teas, there are a few simple habits you can adopt. Drinking your tea at a moderate temperature rather than piping hot reduces the erosive potential of the natural acids. Additionally, enjoying your fruit brew alongside a meal or avoiding brushing your teeth for 30 minutes after drinking gives your saliva time to naturally neutralise your mouth and protect your enamel.

Plain, freshly brewed fruit tea contains virtually zero calories and zero sugar, making it an exceptional beverage choice for weight management and fasting. When you steep dried fruits in hot water, you extract the vibrant aromas and flavours without transferring the heavy carbohydrates or fruit sugars found in standard fruit juices.

Incorporating a low calorie fruit tea into your daily routine allows you to satisfy a sweet craving after dinner without consuming any actual sugar. To keep your brew completely calorie-free, it is best enjoyed just as it is - though a tiny drop of local honey or a slice of fresh fruit can be added if you prefer a slightly sweeter finish.
