The roast

At the northern tip of South America, Colombia is a country of amazing rainforests, giant mountains and of course, sublime coffee. Our bag of Cheerfully Colombian coffee is filled with the medium roast coffee beans. This coffee is single origin, 100% Arabica beans.

The taste

Made using 100% Arabica beans, Miles’ Colombian coffee is one of our medium roast coffees. Its mild acidity, along with its smooth texture lends a pleasant brightness to the cup, while the fruity and floral notes add a refreshing touch to the overall taste experience. With hints of caramel, cocoa, and nuts dancing in each sip, Colombian coffee presents a harmonious blend of flavours that cater to a wide range of palates.

The benefit

The caffeine in the coffee will make you feel more energised and can boost your metabolism. Coffee beans contain vitamins, many of which make their way to the brewed cup.

This coffee has a smooth, consistent taste, which makes it perfect for all day drinking. If you’re feeling flat, this roast is sure to cheer you up – we especially like to enjoy this brew mid-afternoon to beat that post lunch slump!

The creation

Only the finest beans from around the world make their way into our coffees. Each bag is filled with hand-roasted coffee beans. Our coffee Gurus use their experience and knowledge of the artisan coffee industry to guarantee a perfect roast every time.

Based on the edge of Exmoor and on Somerset’s coastline, we take inspiration from our beautiful surroundings to create a cup of coffee that embodies a little escape, evoking memories of a holiday in the West Country, with each sip. Our attention to detail and experience ensures a consistent, flavourful coffee that will see you constantly topping up your mug.

About this coffee:

Our Colombian coffee is a high quality selection sourced from the renowned coffee - growing regions of Antioquia and Huila. Colombia is a nation of immense geographical diversity, with its coffee production centred in the highlands of the Andes mountain range.

Origin and growing conditions:

Region: Sourced from the regions of Antioquia and Huila.
Altitude: Cultivated at elevations ranging between 1100-1900 metres above sea level (masl).
Geography: The growing areas are situated within the Andes mountains, a region that was once the world's largest producer of washed coffees.
Landscape: The landscape stretches from the Amazon Rainforest to the high - altitude Andean peaks, providing a diverse climate for coffee cultivation.

Harvest and processing:

Harvesting: Ripe coffee cherries are typically harvested between October-January.
Sorting: Once picked, cherries undergo an initial flotation sorting to remove under - ripe fruit and debris before entering the pulping stage.
Fermentation: After passing through washing channels, the coffee sits in fermentation tanks for typically 8-14 hours.
Drying: The beans are moved to drying patios or specialised guardiolas, where they undergo controlled drying until they reach a moisture content of 10 - 12%.

From Colombia to your cup:

Once the parchment is removed and the beans are meticulously graded, they are prepared for export from Colombia. The final stage of this journey takes place at our factory in the coastal village of Porlock, Somerset. Here, we roast the beans in small batches to highlight the balance and smooth profile characteristic of the Antioquia and Huila regions. This careful transition - from the slopes of the Andes to our South West roastery - ensures that every cup you brew delivers the consistent quality and rich heritage of Colombian.
