Called Superior for a reason, this 100g pack contains a blend of the best quality teas available, gently blended them to produce one of our most exquisite teas. Perfect for the true tea connoisseur.
Assam, Kenya, Ceylon and Darjeeling teas are blended together to result in something exceptional, which is why we called it Superior. This tea has a malty taste (from the Assam), rich and vibrant colour (from the Kenya tea) and a slight floral aroma (from the Darjeeling).
Black tea contains polyphenols, a type of antioxidant. Caffeine and an amino acid called L-theanine are also found in black tea, which is said can improve alertness and focus – even more than coffee!
This is a great blend to serve guests when they pop over for a cuppa and a catch up and you want to serve them a tea that is a cut above!
Using traditional methods of blending and tasting, this tea has been carefully crafted by the Miles team, using Miles experTeas!
Based on the edge of Exmoor and on Somerset’s coastline, we take inspiration from our beautiful surroundings to create a cuppa that embodies a little escape, evoking memories of a holiday in the West Country, with each sip. Our attention to detail and experience ensures a consistent, flavourful tea that will see you constantly topping up your mug.
We are founding members of the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP). The ETP is a not-for-profit organisation, which convenes tea companies, developing agencies, governmental and non-governmental organisations to improve the lives of communities within the tea sector. Each purchase directly helps to provide better living and working conditions for those working in the tea trade.

100% black tea
Black tea is best made with water brought to a full boil and used immediately for the tea to release its full flavour (if you're using a teapot remember to warm the pot first). Use one teaspoon of loose-leaf tea per person.
Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes. If you like your tea strong add more tea, don't steep for longer as this will turn the flavours bitter.
Drink with milk, with lemon or on its own.
Our Superior Black blend is available in packs of either 100g or 1kg of loose leaf tea.
An exceptional tea should be paired with an exceptional cake. A traditional victoria sandwich cake with delicious homemade jam and fluffy light sponge will do just the trick!
Make sure you store your tea in an airtight container – a tin is better than plastic, or seal up the packaging it arrives in. Although tea feels dry, it contains 3 % moisture and oils that are essential to its flavour. If not properly stored these can evaporate. Keep your tea in a fairly cool, dry place, which is out of sunlight and try to keep away from any spices that could taint the flavour.
Often described as the ‘Champagne of teas’, Darjeeling has a distinctive fruity, muscatel character
