Jun Chiyabari Loose Leaf Tea
The blend (Ingredients in bold)
Jun Chiyabari Loose Tea is a rare and delicate offering from the high-altitude hills of Nepal. Consisting of 100% pure Black tea, this TGFOP (Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) grade selection is often compared to the finest Darjeelings in the world. It is a tea defined by the altitude at which it grows - between 2,500 and 5,500 feet above sea level - where the thin mountain air and misty slopes produce a leaf of unparalleled quality.
The taste
On the palate, Jun Chiyabari is the definition of "light but quality." It is celebrated for its ethereal muscatel notes that speak directly of the crisp mountain air. The infusion is strikingly bright with a golden coppery hue, offering a sophisticated flavour profile that is both delicate and deeply satisfying. It is a "top-shelf" black tea that maintains a refreshing lightness, making it the perfect transition for those moving away from the heavier malty blends of winter.
The benefit
This tea is an "Ultra High" antioxidant powerhouse, offering one of the highest levels of wellness benefits available in a black tea. With a medium caffeine level, it provides a refined, steady lift that is ideal for morning clarity or a sophisticated afternoon pick-me-up. It is a pure, unblended way to enjoy the natural vitality of the Himalayas in its most potent form.
The moment
This is the ultimate tea for a spring morning. As the world wakes up, the bright, golden coppery infusion of Jun Chiyabari reflects the returning sun. Just as the tea’s history is linked to the birthplace of the Buddha, sipping this blend invites a moment of zen-like calm and renewal. Whether you are sitting in the garden watching the first blooms appear or taking a mindful break from a busy day, its "mountain air" character brings a sense of vast, open space to your cup.
The creation
Using traditional methods of blending and tasting, this tea has been carefully crafted by the Miles team, using Miles experTeas!
Crafted in the Dhankuta region of Nepal, this tea is produced using the Orthodox method - a traditional leafy manufacture that preserves the integrity of the golden tips. The tea industry here was inspired by the orderly mountain steppes of neighbouring Darjeeling and has since grown to produce some of the world's finest teas. Carefully selected by the Miles team using Miles experTeas, this batch is a testament to Himalayan craftsmanship. To experience the perfect cup, bring filtered water to a rolling boil (100°C/212°F) and steep one slightly heaping teaspoon for 3–5 minutes to unlock its full muscatel magic.
