Have barrels of fun this Guy Fawkes night…

In 1605 Guy Fawkes planned and plotted to blow up King James I and the Houses of Parliament in an effort to make England a Catholic country. Barrels of gunpowder were stored in underground cellars below the Houses of Parliament, ready for Guy Fawkes to set off a huge explosion. The King’s supporters found out about the Gunpowder plot and the cellars were broken into. Guy Fawkes was executed and members of the public had bonfires to celebrate the monarch’s safety. The tradition continues today, with the lighting of bonfires and fireworks on the 5th November every year. Celebrate bonfire night with our simple guide…

We'd love to see you enjoying flasks of Miles tea, coffee and hot chocolate at the fireworks this year. Follow us on FacebookTwitter and Instagram and share your pictures with us using the #MomentswithMiles for the chance to have your picture shared.
